Today’s date idea is for you to discuss and create a date night savings jar!

Some couples want to date, but feel conflicted when money is tight and they have to choose between a date night and something else. Having a jar full of cash (and coins) for date nights takes away that stress and helps you look forward to date night.

Each paycheck you get, take out a little cash and put it in the date fund jar. Alternately, when you are at the grocery store and the debit card machine asks if you want cash back, say YES and put that money in your jar. If you buy something in cash and get change back, put that in the jar. Your jar should have enough funds to go on a fun date once or twice a month without ever touching your bank account!

This jar also is a visual reminder that dating is important to you as a couple. Each time you add money into it, you will be thinking about your love and the next date night you will be having.

You can use any type of jar, bottle or box to collect your date night fund. For one of your date nights you can get some craft supplies and decorate the date night jar/box to personalize it. While you are decorating, discuss some of the date ideas you would like to do with the money. Every time you see the jar you will be looking forward to that next date night!
