Date Idea #35 – Find some wind and fly a kite

Springtime is a great time to build and fly a kite together. You can even turn this date idea into three different dates. The first date you shop for a kite, the second date you build the kite, and the third date you fly the kite.

Buying a kite can be done online or at a local model/craft store. You can get a cheap kite for under $10, or spend more money on a more elaborate design. Building the kite also ranges from a simple 1-minute assembly to many hours, depending on how complex your kite is.

On the day you fly your kite, make sure you find a wide-open area such as the beach, open park, or field. You don’t want it to get caught in a tree or power line. One of you will hold the string, while the other holds the kite and launches it.
