Date Idea #28 – Play a game of horseshoes

When was the last time you tried your luck at a game of horseshoes? I bet it’s been too long, or maybe you have never played.

Horseshoes is a fun game for any age or skill level and is easy to learn. You can usually find a park near you with a horseshoe pit, or you can make your own playing area anywhere if you own a set of horseshoes & spikes.

In this game, you take turns tossing your horseshoes at a metal spike about 40 feet away from you. Score points by getting close to the spike or making a “ringer” around the spike. Horseshoes can be made of metal or plastic. You can purchase your own set at any sporting goods store.

While this may not be a traditional Saint Patrick’s Day event, it’s a fun date idea and the lucky horseshoe game ties into our dating theme.
