Date Idea #20 – Drive around to find the location of the searchlight

You know when you driving around at night and you see a bright spotlight in the sky and you wonder: “What is that spotlight for?” Next time, why not find out?

This is a fun random activity that you can do anytime you see a spotlight in the sky. Will it be for a grand opening event, a haunted house, a car dealership sale, or the signal calling for Batman? You never know, unless you drive to find out.

My wife and I did this activity last month when we noticed a bright spotlight in the sky while driving around at night. We drove toward the source of the light and enjoyed laughing as we explored roads we have never been on before and hitting a few dead ends. It took about 20 minutes to locate, but we were able to find the source. We ended up in a residential neighborhood with a full line of cars doing what we had done. A sign by the spotlight read: “Honk – Helps us celebrate Teanna’s 40th Birthday.” Haha. What a great idea for a Covid birthday and it added some random fun to our date night.
