Date Idea #253 – Volunteer your time at a local charity organization

Day 14 of 25 Christmas date ideas. We asked our friends @destinationdatenights what December date they said:

“The Christmas season is a wonderful time of celebration and gift giving. We love spending time with our family and friends. We also try to be intentional about doing something to help others. Some years we have gone on ‘date nights’ with a local charity making sandwiches and delivering food and drink to people who live on the streets. Other years we’ve put together Christmas hampers for people in need or purchased gifts from charity gift catalogues. Many organizations do fantastic work at this time and it’s great to be able to support these efforts. It is humbling to help others and we find that it helps to build a more grounded perspective on life.”

We love this! Helping others through volunteer activities is a wonderful way to spend a date night together.

Almost all charity organizations are happy to accept help in their efforts. Call around ahead of time and schedule a time to serve someone else for a few hours. What an amazing date idea to build lasting memories!
